Worms is a city with world history – and now that history will soon include a specially-designed edition of Monopoly

In close cooperation with the City of Worms, Tourist Information Worms, and Worms City Marketing, Alpine Editions is developing an exclusive, fully customised edition of Monopoly for Worms.

Worms is one of Germany’s oldest cities and is internationally renowned for its unique historical heritage — from the Nibelungen legends and Worms Cathedral to the Diet of Worms in 1521 and Martin Luther. The aim of this special edition is to represent the city’s history, culture, festivals, and modern life using the familiar and much-loved Monopoly game format in an engaging and playful way — for residents of Worms, visitors, and Worms enthusiasts far beyond the region.

Monopoly Worms is officially in development and will be available in stores in time for Christmas 2026.

The classic Monopoly gameplay remains unchanged, but streets, stations, and event cards are entirely replaced with real locations, landmarks, and institutions from Worms.

Planned features include, among others:

Historic landmarks such as St. Peter’s Cathedral, the Heylshof, the Luther Memorial, and the Jewish Museum in the Rashi House
Major events and festivals
Representative companies and local organisations that shape modern-day Worms
